Final Rites on Monday
Funeral services for Charles W. Denison, 87, of Armstrong, who died Thursday [December 23, 1965] at his home, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Armstrong, Rev. Herman U. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Charles Denison was born Sept. 2, 1878, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Denison. He was educated in Kansas schools.

Mr. Denison was married to Amy Estelle Boyd at Columbus Junction Feb. 27, 1901. They farmed in the Armstrong area until 1918.

He was then employed by the DX Service Station in Armstrong until 1950, when he retired.

His wife died May 25, 1956.

He was a member of the Armstrong Oddfellows Lodge.

Mr. Denison is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Earhart of Denver, Colo.; one son, Boyd E. Denison of Marshalltown; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one infant son.

Friends may call at the Slaba-Reese Funeral Home at Armstrong Sunday afternoon until noon Monday. The body will lie in state at the church, 1-2 p.m. Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 24, 1965)
