Mrs. Daries Funeral
Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Daries were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 from the First Presbyterian church, Armstrong by the Rev. Alex Orr, pastor of the church. Emmet chapter O.E.S. assisted with the graveside rites. Burial was made in Armstrong Grove cemetery.Mrs. Daries died early Thursday [November 5, 1953] morning at her home of a heart attack.
Edna Frances Daries, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Reber, was born June 8, 818 [1873] at Leaf River, Ill., and passed away Nov. 5, 1953.
She moved with her family to Miller, S.D. when she was seven years old and in 1892 they moved to Kossuth County, Iowa.
In 1897 she was united in marriage to Fred W. Daries of Armstrong and since that time had resided here.
Two children were born to this union, a son, Edward, and a daughter, Velma, who preceded her in death in 1948.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Fred, and son, Edward of Harris, Ia.; two grandchildren, Mrs. Robert Lux of Forest City and Marion Daries of Armstrong; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Reber of Pipestone, Minn., and Arthur Reber of Missoula, Mont.; and five sister, Mrs. Charles Arbogast of Eden Valley, Minn., Mrs. Lulu Kelly of Stettler, Alberta, Canada, Mrs. Roy Jetters of Algona, Ia., Mrs. Cora Shorb of Emmetsburg, Ia., and Mrs. Emma Jackson of St. Paul.
