1919-1979
Armstrong – Mrs. Marion (Maxine) Davies, 59, Armstrong, died Thursday [June 7, 1979] at University Hospitals in Iowa City.Services for Mrs. Davies were held Monday at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. James Fedlam, the Rev. Faye Fedlam and the Rev. Don Sarff officiating. Interment was in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Armstrong, was in charge of arrangements.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall [Randolph] Johnson, she was born Oct. 19, 1919, at Armstrong and received her education in Armstrong schools, graduating from high school in 1937. She was married to Marion Davies on Oct. 19, 1939, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
She lived in Armstrong her entire life, working as a nurses aide at the Valley Vue Nursing Home and as a receptionist for Dr. Roy Turner. She was also a member of the Armstrong Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Daries is survived by her husband, Marion, Armstrong; one son, Randy Daries, Armstrong; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (DeAnna) Cross, Armstrong, Mrs. Ken (Mary Ann) Wolter, Fairmont, Minn., and Mrs. Rick (Jane) Clark, Truman, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and her mother, Mrs. Florence Johnson, Armstrong.
She was preceded in death by one son, her father and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 11, 1979)
