Armstrong – Services for Mrs. Edward (Helen) Daries, 71, Armstrong, were held today at the Armstrong Presbyterian Church with burial in the Lima Cemetery, West Union.

Mrs. Daries succumbed Friday morning at Fairmont Community Hospital as the result of a stroke.

Born Jan. 26, 1905, at Fayette, Mrs. Daries was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oelberg. She received her education in Fayette schools, graduating in 1922, and was a 1925 graduate of St. Luke’s Nurses School, Cedar Rapids.

She was married to Edward J. Daries Nov. 14, 1937, at Dolliver. The couple lived at Harris for 21 years and for the past 18 years at Armstrong. She is a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Daries is survived by her husband, Edward Daries, Armstrong; one step-son, Marion E. Daries, Armstrong; one step daughter, Mrs. Robert Lux, Winona, Minn.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, C.F. Oelberg, West Union.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
