Wayne Dale, Born Here, Is Killed
Armstrong, May 7 – Pvt. Wayne W. Dale, 23, son of Mrs. Nettie Felkey here, was killed April 7 in Germany according to the official notice from the war department received by his mother.

The youth, who was born at Algona, was a national guard enlistee from Fairmont in 1940. When the unit became a part of the regular army he was ordered to Alaska, where he served 30 months, after which he was returned to the United States.

Last January Dale’s unit was sent overseas to the German front and served in both Belgium and Germany. He has a brother, Pfc. George Dale, in Italy. (Algona/Kossuth County Advance, Algona, IA< May 8, 1945)
