Mrs. Roy Drake Passed Away Very Suddenly
The death of Mrs. Roy Drake occurred on Sunday morning of this week very suddenly, after a lingering illness of three years. She had made several trips to Iowa City the past year for treatment and had just returned from that place on Thursday of last week. It was known her condition was not the best but those of the family did not realize the end was so near.

Minnie Cummins Drake was born June 24, 1888, at Armstrong, Iowa, and passed away April 19, 1925, at the age of 36 years, 9 months and 25 days.

Born in this immediate vicinity, she passed most of her life here except a few short years of childhood spent at Ottawa, Ill. When 8 years old she moved with her folks to this vicinity where she lived until February 22, 1912, when she was married to Roy Drake and took up residence on a farm near Buffalo Center, for three years, when they again moved to Armstrong.

One son, Arnold, preceded her in death, February 8, 1918. The deceased leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, two small daughters, Berniece and Marie, a father and mother, three brothers and one sister, besides a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Drake was a patient suffer during her long illness but did not give up hope of recovering so that she might again resume her duties in her home. She was a good mother and a kind friend.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon of this week, conducted by Rev. J.S. Swenk of the Presbyterian church and interment was in the Armstrong cemetery.
