Former Resident of Armstrong Accident Victim
Armstrong – Word has been received here of the death of John Cronk, 46, that occurred March 27 at Salinas, Calif.

It is reported that he died in a train accident, but because no identification was found on his body, his only next of kin, his sister, Mrs. Vernon (Maxine) Phelps of Minneapolis, was only recently found and notified.

John Cronk was born Sept. 2, 1921, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Cronk, at Armstrong. He received his education in the Armstrong schools and served in the United States Army. Identification was established through the army.

He is survived by his sister and an aunt, Mrs. Lena Cronk of Armstrong. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 4, 1968)
