Rites of Mrs. Cronk To Be Held Tuesday
Armstrong – Mrs. Irvin (Inez) Cronk, 67, died Saturday [March 23, 1963] morning at Holy Family Hospital. The cause of death was cancer. She had been hospitalized since March 14.

The former Inez Mae Pennell was born Dec. 25, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John V. Pennell, at Milford. She received her education in the Armstrong school. She was married to Irvin Cronk on March 28, 1914, in Armstrong.

Mrs. Cronk was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Past Noble Grands Club and the Stitch and Chat Club. She was also a member of the Free Methodist Church in Armstrong.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Maxine) Phelps, Coon Rapids, Minn., one son, John Cronk, Armstrong, and three grandchildren, Gary, Jack and Gene Phelps. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Burnis (Berniece) Tweedt, Jackson, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Free Methodist Church in Armstrong with the Rev. Dexter Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Slaba Funeral Home in Armstrong today and until 1 p.m. tomorrow at which time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of service. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 25, 1963)
