Brother Dies
Lake Mills – Mr. and Mrs. Knudt Meland attended the last rites of Charles Cronk at Armstrong Tuesday [March 15, 1955]. Mr. Cronk was a brother of Mrs. Meland. Mr. Cronk had been blind for some years and in poor health. He was 78 years of age. (Mason City Globe Gazette, Mason City, IA, March 16, 1955)

Chas. W. Cronk, 78, Dies At Ringsted Home
Swea and Eagle – Charles W. Cronk, 78, almost a life time resident of this community, passed away Saturday, March 12, at his home in Ringsted. Funeral service were conducted the following Tuesday afternoon, at the Free Methodist church in Armstrong with burial in Armstrong Grove cemetery.

Charles Willard Cronk was born August 22, 1876, on a farm east of Armstrong.

March 12, 1912 he was married to Amy Fletcher of Lakota, Ia. To this union seven children were born.

The family farmed in the Armstrong community until 11 years ago, when Mr. Cronk’s health failed and they moved to Rinsted.

He is survived by his wife, 3 sons and 3 daughters, Wesley of Madrid; Paul a student at Greenville College, Greenville, Ill.; Joy of Ruthven; Mrs. James (Mildred) Kirk and Mrs. Gilbert (Phyllis) Nimmo of Durand, Wis.; and Mrs. Virgil (Avis) Bedow of Tyler, Minn.; also one brother Earl of Armstrong, three sisters, Mrs. Ezra Atkinson, Brookings, S.D.; Mrs. Jennie Rogers, San Gabriel, Calif. and Mrs. Knute Neland [Meland] of Lake Mills.

Mrs. Ervin Link, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Link and daughter Gwendolyn attended the funeral of Mr. Cronk. The men folk are cousins of Mrs. Cronk. (Algona Upper Des Moines, Algona, IA, March 24, 1955)
