Earl Cronk Dies
Earl Cronk, 82, died at 5:58 a.m. today at Turner’s Rest Home in Armstrong as the result of a stroke and complications of old age. He had been in poor health for nine months.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Methodist church in Armstrong, Rev. Herman U. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery, Reese-Slaba Funeral Home in charge. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 25, 1966)

Earl Cronk Final Rites on Monday
Funeral services for Earl Cronk who died early yesterday morning at Turner’s Rest Home in Armstrong will be held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in Armstrong.

Family services will be at 1:30 p.m. followed by public rites at 2 p.m., Rev. Herman U. Smith in charge.

Burial will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Cronk was born Nov. 23, 1883, at Armstrong, the son of Henry and Mary Elizabeth Cronk.

He was married Nov. 21, 1921, to Lena Laatz at Armstrong. Mr. Cronk lived all his life in Emmet County and farmed a mile and one-half east of Armstrong.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Melvin and Donald of Armstrong; two daughters, Lois Corderman of Cairo, Miss., and Marlene of Armstrong; 10 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Jenny Rodgers, Alhambra, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
