Out-of-town People at Rites for Miss Cronk
Aletha Mae Cronk was born Dec. 14, 1904 at Armstrong, the daughter of George and Byrd Cronk. She died June 14, 1958 at Iowa City after a lingering illness.Miss Cronk was a 1924 graduate of the Armstrong High School. In recent years she was employed at the Donald York home in Estherville and made her home with a brother, Burton, at Ringsted.
She is survived by three brothers, Ralph of Armstrong, George of Dolliver and Burton of Ringsted; six nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1911 and her father in 1939.
Funeral services were held June 17 at the Free Methodist church, Armstrong, the Rev. James Warren of Ringsted officiating. Music was presented by Mrs. James Warren and Mrs. Forrest Christiansen, both of Ringsted.
Pallbearers were Ralph Krough of Maple Hill, Fred Krough of Dolliver, Melvin Cronk of Ringsted, Donald Cronk of Armstrong, Delmar Olson of Estherville and Robert Olson of San Diego, Calif.
Burial was in Armstrong Grove cemetery.
Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral services were Ezra Atkinson and Mrs. Millie Cronk, both of Brookings, S.D.; Mrs. Laverne Hackerson, Northfield, Minn.; Robert Olson, San Diego, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Reiter, Norfolk, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Olson, Mrs. Gust Knudson, Mr. and Mrs. Donald York, Mrs. Carrie Zufall, Mrs. Joe Sifrit, Mrs. Alma Barlow, Mrs. Ruth Cronk and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lowenberg, all of Estherville; and Mrs. Joy Cronk of Emmetsburg.
