Armstrong – Services for Mrs. Loren (Florence A.[Agnes]) Clayton, 65, will be held Saturday at United Methodist Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Marshall Monthei and the Rev. Victor Vriesen officiating. Interment will be Armstrong Grove Cemetery. She died Wednesday, April 22, 1992 at Fairmont Community Hospital. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Dec. 23, 1926 at Swea City, the daughter of Frederick and Olga (Simonsmeier) Schwartz and attended rural schools. She married Loren Clayton at Sioux Falls, S.D. Feb. 4, 1966. The couple farmed near Armstrong and moved into Armstrong in 1976. She attended United Methodist Church at Armstrong.

Survivors include her husband Loren (Slim), Armstrong; two sons: Walt Boever, Armstrong and Doug Boever, Belvidere, Ill.; three grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Art (Erna) Doocy, Owatonna, Minn.; Mrs. Irvin (Lillian) Smith, Armstrong; Mrs. Don (Evelyn) Johnson, Mrs. Jim (Betty) Smith, Swea City; three brothers: Ervin and Edwin Schwartz, Charles City; Fred Schwartz, Warwick, R.I.; sister-in-law Mae Schwartz, Swea City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 25, 1992)
