Armstrong Woman Dies
Funeral services will be held tomorrow for Mrs. Aura Churchill, 80, Armstrong, who died Saturday [November 2, 1957] evening at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. Mrs. Churchill had been hospitalized for the past three months due to a stroke.

Isabelle Fox Churchill, the daughter of Robert and Rachel Fox, was born on Dec. 14, 1876 at Newton. She came to Armstrong at the age of 14 with her mother and has lived there since.

She married Aura Churchill on March 1, 1899. The couple live on the Churchill homestead southeast of Armstrong until their retirement in 1945 when they moved to Armstrong.

Survivors are her husband, Aura, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the couple’s only son, Leslie, who died in 1951.

Services will be held at 2:00 tomorrow afternoon at the First Methodist Church at Armstrong with the Rev. R.D. Tappmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 4, 1957)
