Armstrong – Funeral arrangements for Rosella Cheever, 85, of Armstrong will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Paul Rothfusz officiating. Interment will be held at Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong. She died on Friday, July 26 at the Good Samaritan Center in Barnesville, Minn.Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.
She was born on October 29, 1910 in Martin County, Minn., the daughter of John Henry and Dorea (Laue) Fritz. She received her education in the parochial school in Wilbert, Minn. She was united in marriage to Lester Cheever on March 11, 1933 in Wilmont. Following the marriage the couple lived on a farm north of Armstrong until 1990. Rosella worked with her husband on the farm most of her life. She also was employed by Doctor Turner, Valley Vue Care Center and Dairy Queen, all of Armstrong. She also worked at Stokely Foods in Fairmont. In 1990 she moved to Moorhead, Minn. to live with her son and his family. She moved to Hawley Manor Retirement Home in 1992 and later moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Barnesville.
She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (Joann) Krumm of Norfolk, Va.; two sons, Leslie Cheever of Moorhead, Minn.; Harvey Cheever of Holly Springs, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Freida Thate of Fairmont, Minn.; Hilda Spray of Texas; Mrs. Wilbert (Regina) Moeller of Fairmont; and one brother, Ellrick Fritz of Fairmont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1988 and one son. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 29, 1996)
