Ella Carlson, 60, Armstrong Dies; Rites Wednesday
Armstrong – Ella Emily Carlson died at 1:10 a.m. Sunday [October 29, 1969] at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. Mrs. Carlson, 60, had been suffering from cancer for four years.She was born Aug. 4, 1909, on a farm in Emmet County to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Swanson. She received her education in the Estherville schools. Mrs. Carlson was married Jan. 30, 1929, to Edward Carlson at Des Moines.
She lived on a farm near Estherville until moving to their farm near Armstrong. After the deah of her husband, she moved to Armstrong.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past president of W.S.C.S. and the Wednesday Study Club.
She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Louis Ries of Armstrong, Mrs. Clifford Wycoff of Estherville, and Mrs. Clarence Knapp and Mrs. George Greener of San Diego, Calif.; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Armstrong. The Rev. Travis Cannaday will officiate. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
