Edwards Boy Is Dead After Long Illness
James Edwards, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Edward, died yesterday at his home, 312 West Des Moines street, after an illness of almost two years.

The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Mahlum & Anderson funeral chapel with the Rev. F.W. Ortmeyer of the Methodist church officiating. Interment will be made in Oakhill cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, six brothers and five sisters. The brothers are: Hamilton of Washington, D.C.; Marvin, Douglas, Maurice, Miles and Gene, all of Estherville; and the sisters, Mrs. Marlon Wroten, Jordan Valley, Ore.; Mrs. Jack Howard, Salmon, Idaho; and Marie, Doris and Alice, all at home. Passes After Long Illness
James, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Edwards Died Yesterday; Funeral Wednes.
James Downing [Dowling] Edwards, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. D. Edwards, died at the home of hi sparents shortly after noon yesterday. The youth had been in poor health for many years, but attended school until Feb. 20, 1936. He was at that time a student in the eighth grade.

Born May 21, 1922 in Estherville, he had spent his entire life here.

Surviving are his parents and eleven brothers and sisters, Hamilton Edwards, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Marian S. Worton, Gordon Valley, Oregon; Mrs. Jack Howard, Salmon, Idaho; Mrs. Earle E. Read, Arnolds Park, and Marvin, Douglas, Maurice, Miles, Jean, Doris and Alice of Estherville.

None of those from out-of-town with the exception of Mrs. Read will be able to come for the services which will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o’clock from the Mahlum and Anderson chapel. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Rev. F.W. Ortmeyer of the Methodist Episcopal church will be in charge. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 7, 1937)
