Former Resident of Armstrong Community Dies
Mrs. Milo Butterfield, 47, formerly of Armstrong, died unexpectedly Monday at her home in Paulina. Although not in the best of health --- she seemed as well as usual until about midnight Sunday when she experienced a stroke which caused her death at 11 a.m. Monday.

Mrs. Hazel Beers Butterfield was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Beer. She was born at Primghar, Ia., Feb. 22, 1891, and passed away Jan. 9. During the year 1910, she was united in marriage to Milo Butterfield. The couple had two daughters, Grace and Ruth. The family left Armstrong several years ago and lived in Ringsted until December, 1931, when they moved to Paullina, which has since been their home.

Mrs. Butterfield united with the Methodist church when a girl, and had transferred her membership from Armstrong to Paullina. Before becoming ill last spring she taught in the Sunday school. She was a member of the FX chapter P.E.O. sisterhood, and of the Royal Neighbors of America.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters, her father, and one sister, Mrs. Fern Beers, all of Paullina; and one brother, Charles Beers, of Charleston, W. Va. Her mother preceded her in death in 1920.

Funeral services were held in the home Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 11. The Rev. J. M. Howdeshell, pastor of the Paullina Methodist church, was in charge, and the Rev. A.A. Howe of Sutherland, preached the funeral sermon. A brief service was held in the Armstrong cemetery where burial was made in the family lot.
