Death Takes Milo Butterfield at LeMars Hospital Feb. 11
Milo [Emory Milo] Butterfield, 52, of Paullina, Ia., passed away early this Thursday morning, Feb. 11, at a LeMars hospital where he had been taken three days previous, following a long winter illness.Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at Paullina and interment will take place at Archer [Armstrong], Ia.
Milo, former Aurelia resident, is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Thomson of Aurelia and Mrs. P.D. McDowell of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Vernon of Aurelia and L.F. of Hollywood, Calif.; and two daughters living near Paullina. His wife preceded him in death. Obituary- Milo Butterfield
Milo Butterfield of Paullina, son of Benj. And Bertha Butterfield, was born in Aurelia, Iowa, September 19, 1891, and passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital in LeMars Wednesday, Feb. 10, after an illness of a few days. Milo received his education in Aurelia. He was united in marriage with Miss Hazel Beers of Armstrong in October [18], 1911. To this union were born two daughters, Grace, now Mrs. Glen Chase of Paullina, and Ruth, now Mrs. Wm. Reckoff of Sutherland. His wife preceded him in death in January, 1938 [1939].The Butterfields lived in Ringsted for several years before moving to Paullina eleven years ago where Milo has been in business.
Besides his two daughters, he is survived by two sisters, his twin, Mrs. Mildred Thomson of Aurelia, and Mrs. Laura McDowell of Los Angeles, and two brothers, Vernon of Aurelia and Lawrence of Hollywood.
A short service was held at the home in Paullina Saturday afternoon and burial took place in Armstrong. (Aurelia Sentinel, Aurelia, IA, February 18, 1943)
