Mr. and Mrs. Roy Burt were in Armstrong yesterday attending the funeral of Mrs. Glen Burt, 45, who passed away Wednesday after an operation for a kidney ailment. She is survived by her husband and five children. Roy Burt is a cousin of the deceased woman. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 5, 1936)
Mrs. Glen Burt of Seneca Died Wednesday Morn
Seneca: The people of Seneca were saddened by the sudden death of Mrs. Glen Burt at the hospital in Iowa City recently. Mrs. Burt had been in ill health for the past several months. She was taken to Iowa City in the ambulance on Thursday morning and died Wednesday [April 29, 1936] morning of kidney trouble.She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Glen Burt, and five children: Elizabeth, a junior in the Seneca high school; Helen, a freshman; Dorothy, who is ill with the mumps and in the fifth grade; Joseph, in the third grade, and Jimmy, in the first grade. Neighbors of Glen Burt plowed and dragged 35 acres of ground for him the first of last week. There were eight tractors with plows and two tractors with drags working in the field at the same time.
