Armstrong – Services for Orval [Orrin] Boicourt, 71, Brainerd, Minn., and formerly of Armstrong, will be 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Travis Cannaday officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Boicourt died Tuesday [October 18, 1977] at St. Joseph Hospital, Brainerd.

Friends may call at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Armstrong, from noon Thursday.

Mr. Boicourt was born Feb. 22, 1906, at Logansport, Ind., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boicourt. He was married to Julia Hardecoff [Hardecopf] in October, 1926, at Armstrong. Following the death of his first wife in 1952 [1953], he was married to Evelyn Conn Feb. 12, 1955, at Fairmont, Minn.

He moved to Iowa in his early 20’s and farmed and operated a restaurant in Dolliver and a gas station in Armstrong until moving to Brainerd 16 years ago to operate a resort. He retired nine years ago.

He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Armstrong Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Boicourt is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Robert Boicourt, Estherville, ad Wilbur Boicourt, Union Star, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Frances) Schultze, Hutchinson, Minn., and Mrs. Junior (Jean) Joenks, Pine River, Minn.; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, one daughter, parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 19, 1977)
