Mrs. Blekfeld of Armstrong Dies at 54
Services have been tentatively scheduled for Mrs. Edna Blekfeld, 54, Armstrong, who died early this morning at Valley Vue Nursing Home, Armstrong. Cause of death was listed as multiple sclerosis.

Edna Ferguson was born Dec. 17, 1913, at Swea City to Mr. and Mrs. Alton Ferguson. She was educated at Seneca Consolidated School near Swea City.

On April 6, 1943, she married Ralph Blekfeld. The couple lived in Emmet County. Mr. Blekfeld served as a county employe and on the county board of supervisors.

Mrs. Blekfeld was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Peggy) Butterfield, Minneapolis; one brother, Laurence Ferguson, Rice Lake, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Sampson, Dolliver.

Services have been tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Armstrong, with Rev. Travis Cannaday, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Armstrong, officiating.

Friends may call at the Slaba-Reese Funeral Home, Armstrong, 7 p.m. Thursday until noon Saturday.

Burial will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 7, 1968)
