Armstrong – Services for Mrs. Walter (Norma Corrine) Berggren, 57, will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church with Pastor Donohue Sarff officiating. Interment will be in the Armstrong Grove cemetery. She died Thursday, April 10, 1986 at the Fairmont Community Hospital.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home at Armstrong from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

She was born Aug. 10. 1928 at Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Martin and Lillian (Severson) Peterson. She was a graduate of Fairmont High School in 1947. She was united in marriage with Walter Berggren in July, 1947 at Fairmont. The couple moved to Armstrong in 1952 where they owned and operated the Deluxe Motel. She was also employed as a cook for the Whitehouse Café in Armstrong. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Nazareth Lutheran Church Women and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary where she was a Past President.

Survivors include her husband, Walter, Armstrong; mother Mrs. Lillian Peterson, Fairmont; one son Dain S. Berggren and one daughter Cheryll K. Payne, Armstrong; one granddaughter Billie Jo Payne, Armstrong; one brother Earl Peterson, Minneapolis, Minn. and a sister Mrs. Warren (Joan) Lien, Delavan, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her father. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 12, 1986)
