G.H. Bergeson, Gruver Man, Passes Away
George H. Bergeson, 69, died at – p.m. yesterday at his home near Gruver after an illness of three months duration during which he has suffered from heart trouble.

He had been in poor health for several years. Surviving besides the wife are five daughters, Mrs. Jack Tucker, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Guy Ramsey of Estherville, Mrs. Thomas McKean of Maple Hill, and Mrs. L.A. Ford of Los Angeles, Calif.; and five sons, Bert and Archie of Tigerton, Wis., Harvey of Chicago, Roy of Los Angele, Calif., and Lester, living at home.

There are also three brothers, Sam of Mitchell, S.D., Ed of Ringsted, and Arthur of Whitefish, Mont.; and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Winkelblack of Sebastopol, Calif.; Mrs. Ambrose Lettson of Seneca, Ill.; and Mrs. Martin Munson of Northfield, Minn. A son and daughter preceded Mr. Bergeson in death.

No funeral arrangements have been made.

Mr. Bergeson was born March 13, 1870, in LaSalle county, Ill. He moved to Hamilton county, Iowa, in 1891, and later to Norman county, Minnesota.

He was married in 1894 to Miss Hannah Williams of Hamilton county, Iowa, and for the last 28 years, had lived on the farm northeast of Gruver where he died. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 16, 1939)

George Bergeson Passes Sunday
George H. Bergeson, 69, passed away Sunday afternoon at his home on a farm northeast of Gruver. Mr. Bergeson has been in poor health for several years and suffered from heart trouble the last three months.

He was born March 13, 1870, in LaSalle county, Ill., and moved to Hamilton County, Iowa, in 1891, and later to Norman county, Minnesota. In 1894 Mr. Bergeson married Miss Hannah Williams of Hamilton county, Iowa and for the last 28 years they have lived northeast of Gruver.

Besides his wife he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Jack Tucker of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Guy Ramsey, Estherville; Mrs. Thomas McKean, Gruver; Mrs. Russell Graves, Maple Hill; and Mrs. L.A. Ford, Los Angeles, Calif. and five sons, Bert and Archie, Tigerton, Wis.; Harvey, Chicago; Roy, Los Angeles, Calif. and Lester, living at home.

Also left to mourn his death are three brothers, Sam of Mitchell, South Dakota; Ed, Ringsted; and Arthur, Whitefish, Mont.; and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Winkelblack, Sebastopol, Calif.; Mrs. Ambrose Lettson, Seneca, Ill.; and Mrs. Martin Munson, Northfield, Minn.

G.H. Bergeson Services Will Be Tomorrow
Funeral services for George H. Bergeson, who died Sunday at his home near Gruver, will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Bergeson home and 2 pm. at the Gruver Presbyterian church.

The Rev. T. Chandler Burton will officiate. Burial will be in Armstrong cemetery.

The pallbearers will be George Calhan, August Rosenberger, Allen Hiles, Frank Krieger, Robert Woods and George Kirchner. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 17, 1939)

Jan 19, 1939 - Estherville Enterprise - George H. Bergeson for 28 years a resident of this county passed away last Sunday at his farm home northeast of Gruver. Mr. Bergeson has made many close friends during his residence in this county. He was a kind and beloved neighbor, always willing to be of assistance to his friends.

He was born on March 10, 1870 at LaSalle, Illinois. He was married to Miss Hannah Williams of Webster City in 1891. He came to Hamilton county, Iowa from La Salle in 1891 and for a time he resided in Minnesota before coming to this county. His health has not been the best for several years. The past three months his condition has been considered serious.

He is survived by his widow and five daughters: Mrs. Jack Tucker of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Guy Ramsey of Estherville; Mrs. Thomas McKean of Gruver; Mrs. Russell Graves of Maple Hill; and Mrs. L.A. Ford of Los Angeles, Calif.; and five sons: Bert and Archie of Tigerton, Wis.; Harvey of Chicago; Roy of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Lester, living at home. The funeral services were held on Wednesday.
