Boy of 15 Dies of Pneumonia On Farm At Gruver
Teddy Bergeson Was Ill But One Week
Gruver, Dec. 20 – The community was grieved to hear of the death of Teddy Bergeson, 15, who died Wednesday night, Dec. 14, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bergeson. He was ill one week with pneumonia.He was born May 17, 1912. He received his education at the Ramsey school from which he was graduated in 1925. Since then he has been at home helping his father on the farm. Teddy had a bright, sunny disposition which made him a great favorite at home and among his friends.
Funeral services were held at the home at 1 o’clock Monday, Dec. 19, and at 1:30 at the Gruver church in charge of Rev. page. Six of his boy friends, Gus Ramsey, Ellsworth Woods, Gerald Love, Bernard Woods, Lars Anderson, and Wilbur Brood were the pall bearers. Burial was at the Armstrong cemetery.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, five brothers, five sisters, a number of relatives and many friends. The brothers are Bert of Lisbon, N. Dak., Harvey of Chicago, Roy of Los Angeles, Cal., and Lester at home. The sisters are Mrs. Mabel Ramsey of Gruver, Mrs. Lora Tucker of Oklahoma, Mildred, Georgia and Esther at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bergeson of Chicago and Roy Bergeson of Los Angeles and a number of other relatives were here to attend the funeral services.
The beautiful flowers and many friends at the funeral showed the love for the one who has gone home. The family have the sympathy of the community in their great loss. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, December 21, 1927)

Theodore William Bergeson, son of Mr. and Mrs. William [George] Bergeson, was born May 17, 1912, at the home of his parents in Center township, and died Nov. [Dec.] 14, 1927, at the age of 15 years, seven months.He attended his home school finishing his grades, then assisted on the farm. He leaves to mourn his departure, five brothers, Harvey, Bert, Roy, Archie and Lester and five sisters, Mrs. Laura Tucker, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mabel Ramsey, Mildred, Georgia and Esther living near and at home. He was preceded in death by a sister Amanda and a baby sister. Funeral was held at the Presbyterian church in Gruver Monday afternoon, Rev.
