Iowa Lake Man Dies at Tyler, Minn.
Iowa Lake, Dec. 15. – Word was received here Friday by relatives of the death of Howard Benton, of Tyler, Minn., age 50, an engineer at the light plant at that place. Death was due to flu, followed by pneumonia. The Funeral was held Monday at Tyler and burial at Fairmont. Mr. Benton was the son of Norman Benton of this vicinity.

Armstrong, Dec. 15. – Howard [Climer] Benton was born in April [13], 1880, at Marseilles, Ill., and died Thursday morning, Dec. 11 at his home in Tyler, Minn., at the age of 50 years, after an illness of four days with pneumonia.

He came to Armstrong, when 7 years old, with his parents, where he lived until 1914, when he went to Fairmont to live for four years and then to Tyler, where he became superintendent of the Tyler light plant in August 1918. He worked at the electric light plant here before leaving for Fairmont. He was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Hansen [Hanson] of Armstrong, Dec. 21, 1909. Seven children were born to this union. One died in infancy. The living are Clayton, Byrl, Norma, Shirley, Audrey and Florence, all at home.

Funeral service were held Monday at Tyler and burial made at Fairmont. Those from here who went to Tyler Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Claud Benton, Raymond Benton, Ed Watland, Mr. and Mrs. Cummins, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cummins, Rufus Cummins, Mrs. Raymond Benton, Jack Frost. Mr. and Mrs. james Lenox, Mr. and Mrs. V.D. Cummins, Fred Cheever, Arnold Lester, Fern Cheever, Elma Paris, Cecil Watrous and daughter.
