Armstrong – Services for Heilmer Beenken, 62, Armstrong, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at the Nazarath Lutheran Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Donohue Sarff officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery with military services.Mr. Beenken died Sunday at Veterans Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn.
Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Armstrong, from 1 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday, when the body will be taken to the church.
Mr. Beenken was born Oct. 28, 1914, at Lakota, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beenken. He received his education in rural Kossuth County schools and farmed his entire life. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Elizabeth) Edwards, Armstrong; two brothers, Heiko Beenken, Webb; and Eugene Beenken, Albert Lea, Minn.; one half brother, Hans Beenken,Britt; and one half sister, Mrs. Hattie Ubben, Buffalo Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and four half brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 22, 1977)
