Funeral Rites for Mrs. Beck Are Held

Funeral services for Mrs. August Beck, 49, were held Thursday, Sept. 15, at two o’clock from the First Methodist church at Swea City and burial was made in Armstrong Grove cemetery, Armstrong. The Rev. S.H. Hammer officiated.

Mrs. Beck passed away Tuesday [October 13, 1953] at her home near Swea City following several months of serious illness.

Vivian McNally Beck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bunt, was born April 7, 1904, at Armstrong. On January 27, 1926, she was married to August Beck and they farmed in the Armstrong vicinity until about 11 years ago when they moved to the Swea City community.

She is survived by her husband and a son, Donald, living at home; her father, James Bunt of Estherville; and three sisters, Mrs. John Blum of Armstrong, Mrs. William Jasulke of Fairmont and Mrs. Lester Chapman of Estherville.

Preceding her in death were her mother and a son, Gerald. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 17, 1953)
