A son, Jerrold [Jerald] Dean, was born Thursday, Sept. 26, to Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Beck. The child did not survive birth. A short funeral service was held at the home Friday afternoon. Burial was made in the Armstrong Grove cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Chapman of Estherville and Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Jaskulke and sons attended the funeral of the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. August Beck Friday. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, October 3, 1935)
