Rites Held For Mrs. Anna Beck of Armstrong
Armstrong Woman Dies at Hospital Here
Funeral services were held in Armstrong Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Anna R. [Rasmussen] Beck of Armstrong.Mrs. Beck, who was 76 years old, died Sunday, March 5. Mrs. Beck had been in failing health and was for the past week a patient in the Coleman hospital in Estherville suffering from a heart ailment.
Born in Denmark
Mrs. Beck was born in Barrett, Denmark, May 21, 1867, and came to the United States with her husband in 1888. They settled first in Humboldt and lived there until 1903 when they moved to Swea township, Kossuth county. In the spring of 1929 they moved to Armstrong where they have made their home since.Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her husband who died May 9 1939, and one son, Carl [?], who died in 1936.
Has Eight Children
Eight children survive. They are Geroge [George] Beck of Armstrong, Mrs. Richard Metz of Ringsted, Mrs. Andy Burt, Jr., of Fenton, Einer and Harry of Estherville, Shirley and August of Armstrong. There are also 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church in Armstrong and the Rev. R.R. Irwin of Winnebago, Minn., officiated. Burial was in the Armstrong Grove cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 10, 1944)
