Former Ringsted Resident Died in California
George Bannister, former Ringsted resident, was born Sept. 30, 1884 at LaPorte City, the son of William and Martha Bannister. He died Nov. 22 at El Cerrito, Cal., after a lingering illness.

Mr. Bannister was married in 1910 to Sarah Louise Madden. The couple lived on a farm west of Ringsted in Jack Creek Township until 16 years ago when they moved to California where Mr. Bannister worked in the shipyards.

He is survived by a son, Willard, of Ringsted; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Emil (Bernita) Heine of Algona; seven grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; six brothers, Harry of Benson, Minn.; Charles of Starbuck, Minn.; William of Minnesota, Ray of Fort Knox, Ky.; Gail of Los Angeles, Cal.; Roy of Morris, Minn.; and two sisters, Mrs. DeLilah Voight of Pine City, Minn.; and Mrs. Ben (Marie) Satilack of Woodburn, Ore. Also surviving is a bother-in-law, Leonard Madden of Armstrong.

His wife preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Nov. 29 at First Methodist Church in Armstrong, the Rev. R.D. Tappmeyer officiating. Burial was in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Music was provided by Mrs. Esther Willson of Armstrong and Mrs. James Warren of Ringsted. Pallbearers were George Booth of Estherville, Harris Wadsworth, Soren Nielsen, Al Loewenberg, all of Armstrong, Marinus Paulsen and Roy England, both of Ringsted.

Out-of-town relatives attending services include Harry Bannister, Benson, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. R.I. Fisher, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Heine, Waverly; Mr. and Mrs. Burnett Heine, Algona; Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Fells, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. William Nieburh, Mr. and Mrs. Art Kaiser, Mr. and Mrs. George Madden, all of Wells, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Ninedorf, Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Heine, Waverly; and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Jenson, Mankato, Minn. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 8, 1958)
