Rites of Mrs. Anderberg Tomorrow
Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel [Florence] Anderberg, 90, of Armstrong, will be held Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church in Armstrong. Family services will begin at 1:30 p.m. and public services will be at 2 p.m.

Rev. Ellis Gasser will officiate.

Mrs. Anderson died at 3:40 a.m. Monday [August 19, 1968] at the Valley-Vue Nursing Home in Armstrong. Cause of death was infirmities of advanced age.

She was born Dec. 20, 1877, on a farm in Kossuth County [per family records, Emmet County], the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Burt. She received her education in Armstrong schools and attended Iowa State College at Ames.

Mrs. Anderberg taught in rural Kossuth and Emmet County schools, and from 1908 until 1912, ran a millinery shop in Armstrong.

She was married Dec. 29, 1909, to Martin Anderberg at her parents’ home near Armstrong.

The Anderbergs farmed from 1912 to 1917, after which they moved to Armstrong, where Mr. Anderberg was engaged in a feed and seed business.

Mrs. Anderberg was accepted into the Order of Easter Star in 1904. She held all offices and was made worthy matron in 1927.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Armstrong.

Mrs. Anderberg was active in Red Cross Work during World War I, and in 4-H work, study clubs, and Presbyterian women’s organization as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. John Christopher of Grand Rapids, Min., nieces and nephews.

Her husband, parents, and five brothers preceded her in death.

Burial will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Slaba-Reese Funeral Home in Armstrong until noon Wednesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 20, 1968)
