Mrs. Anna Hagen [Heggen] Died Last Saturday
Was An Old Settler of This County – Funeral Services Held Tuesday
Another Emmet county pioneer passed away last Saturday [August 18, 1917] evening at her home near Dolliver. Mrs. Anna [Carlson] Hagen, well and favorably known to a host of our people and who had been a resident of this county for thirty-eight years, will be missed from the circle of early settlers which is rapidly thinning as the years pass. She was sixty years of age at the time of her death and leaves a family of six children, all of whom are married and respectable citizens of the Dolliver community, Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Revs. Severton and Akre conducting the memorial. Mrs. Hagen was a respected woman loved by all who knew her and her loss will be deeply felt in the community of which she had so long been a member. We join the many friends of the family in extending sincerest sympathy in this dark hour of sorrow. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, August 22, 1917)
