Mrs. John Stanerson Rites Set Friday in Estherville
Mrs. John (Edith B.) Stanerson, 71, Estherville, died at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 27, 1973, at Holy Family Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Estherville Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Stanley Eyberg officiating. Interment will be in Palestine Lutheran Cemetery, Dolliver.
She was born April 5, 1901, in Canton, S.D., to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hanson and was educated in Canton. She was married to John Stanerson, March 28, 1918, at her parents’ home in Canton. After their marriage they moved to a farm near Dolliver and later moved to a farm near Armstrong for three years, then returned to the farm near Dolliver. In 1948 they moved to Estherville.
She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and was active in the women’s organizations of the church. She was employed as a matron at Good Samaritan Center for two years.
Survivors include her husband, John of Estherville; her son, Frank J. Stanerson, Waukegan, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs. John (Esther) Helgeson, Albert City, Mrs. Ruth Knutson, Estherville, Mrs. Cecil (Naomi) Mager, Anoka, Minn., and Mrs. Don (Mary) Bjelland, Radcliffe; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Andros Hanson, Estherville, the Rev. Christian Hanson, Tucson, Ariz., Carl Hanson, Willmar, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Ingvald Eide, Dell Rapids, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.
