Estherville – Funeral services for John Adolph Stanerson, 87, Estherville, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Stan Eyberg officiating and burial at the Palestine Lutheran Cemetery, Dolliver.

Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements where friends may call.

Mr. Stanerson was born March 16, 1889 in Emmet county to Frank and Julia Thompson Staner [Stanerson/Stenerson] and was education in Emmet County schools. He was married to Edith Hanson March 28, 1918 in Canton, S.D., and they farmed near Dolliver, Armstrong and Estherville. In 1948 he retired and moved to Estherville. He had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center since 1973 and was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son, Frank J. Stanerson, Waukegan, Ill.; four daughters, Ruth Knutson, Estherville; Mrs. John (Esther) Helgason, Albert City; Mrs. Cecil (Naomi) Mager, Anoka, Minn.; and Mrs. Don (Mary) Bjelland, Radcliffe; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Grace Hanson, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, seven sisters and his parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 6, 1976)
