Dolliver – Raymond L. [Leander] Olson, 78, Dolliver, succumbed Sunday, Aug. 7, 1977, at his farm home near Dolliver following failing health for the past two years.Services for Mr. Olson will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Palestine Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lewis Davidson officiating with interment in the Palestine Cemetery. Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, after noon Tuesday until noon Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church.
Mr. Olson was born May 24, 1898, at Browntown, Wis., the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Olson. He was educated in rural schools and received his high school education at Monroe, Wis.
He was married to Josephine Iverson at Gruver on Dec. 22, 1919. He was a farmer near Dolliver from 1922 until 1966 and continued to live on the same farm until his death.
Mr. Olson was a member of the Palestine Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge and past member of the creamery board at Estherville and Dolliver.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine; one son, Ronald Olson, Dolliver; one daughter, Velma Olney, Estherville; seven grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Probst, Monroe, Wis., and Mrs. Milo Swanton, Madison, Wis.
Mr. Olson was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one great grandson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 8, 1977)
