Sadie Olson Dies

Sadie Olson, 72, died at 9:20 a.m. yesterday at Holy Family Hospital. She had been a patient since Dec. 16 and had been ill for two years.She was born Oct. 5, 1897, at Gardner, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Olson. She received her education in Illinois and Emmet County schools. She attended Waldorf College in Forest city for a short time. She came to Emmet County in 1906 with her family, working at Holy Family Hospital for 18 years.
Survivors include one brother, Elvin Sunde of Estherville; one sister, Hazel Sunde, Portland, Ore.; four nephews, Dr. Glen Olson, Glendale, Ariz.; Arnold Olson, Fresno, Calif.; Charles Sunde, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Thomas Sunde, Estherville; two nieces, Mrs. Reuben Peterson, Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Carrie Heefner, Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with burial in Palestine Lutheran Cemetery north of Dolliver. Rev. Stephen Englestad will officiate. Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home until noon on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be O.M. Lilland, William Nielsen, Roy Sternborg, Carl Sunde, Charles Sunde and Thomas Sunde. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 17, 1970)
