Former Resident Dies
Mrs. Caroline Sunde Olson of Glendale, Calif., former Estherville resident, died Thursday [February 23, 1967] afternoon in Glendale. Her body is being returned to Estherville.

Funeral services have been tentatively set for 11 a.m. Monday at the Estherville Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy M. Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery.

Rites Set for Mrs. T. Olson, 75
Funeral services for Mrs. Torkel (Caroline) Olson, 75, Estherville resident, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Estherville Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy M. Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Sunday until 10 a.m. Monday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services.

Mrs. Olson died Thursday morning at a hospital in Glendale, where she had been admitted the night before.

The former Caroline Sunde was born Dec. 24, 1891, in Emmet County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tollef Sunde. She received her education in the Emmet County schools.

She was married Dec. 24, 1913 to Torkel Olson at Palestine Lutheran Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Olson farmed for a few years after their marriage and then moved to Estherville. Mr. Olson died in 1943.

Mrs. Olson continued to live here until about 1955 when she moved to California to be near her sons.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Glenn Olson of Glendale and Arnold Olson of Fesno, Calif.; six grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Lars Sunde of Pueblo, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 26,5, 1967)
