Los Angeles, Calif. – Memorial services for Mabel Lilland, 94, formerly of Estherville, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Palestine Lutheran Church at the Emmet County Historical Grounds with Pastor Kermit Rye officiating. Interment will be in the Palestine Lutheran Cemetery, rural Dolliver. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.

She was born April 24, 1896 at Dolliver, the daughter of Simon and Magdalena (Worra) Lilland and attended the Dolliver School. She was employed by L.M. Christensen Store in Estherville for a number of years; also worked at Solheim Lutheran Home in Los Angeles for fifteen years. She lived across the street from the home so she spent much time visiting there after retirement; when her health failed in later years she became a resident there. She lived in California 34 years. She was baptized and confirmed at Palestine Lutheran Church and was a member of Hill Ave. Grace Lutheran Church at Pasadena, Calif.

Survivors include two sisters: Marion Lexvold, Seal Beach, Calif. and Hazel Lundring, Los Angeles; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 27, 1990)
