Dolliver – Oswald Mathias Lilland, 77, rural Dolliver, died Wednesday [October 11, 1978] at his farm home.

Services for Mr. Lilland will be 2 pm. Saturday at the Palestine Lutheran Church, rural Dolliver, with interment in the Palestine Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, after 9 a.m. Friday.

Mr. Lilland was born Jan. 7, 1901, near Dolliver, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Lilland. He attended Dolliver school and was married to Hulda Rood on April 10, 1937, at Wallingford.

He was born, reared, lived and died on the same farm. Mr. Lilland also served nine years on the Dolliver School Board and was a director on the Dolliver Creamery Board for many years. He was also a lifetime member of the Palestine Lutheran Church.

Mr. Lilland is survived by his wife, Hulda, Dolliver; two sons, Robert Lilland, Estherville, and Richard Lilland, Lupton, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Sharon Anne) Walker, Centerville, and Mrs. Gene (Janet) Williams, Dolliver; six grandchildren; four sisters, Mabel Lilland, Mrs. Hubert Lekvold and Mrs. Axel Lundring, all of California, and Mrs. Elwood Stanwick, Estherville; and one brother, August Lilland of California; and one brother-in-law, Louis Rood, Dolliver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 12, 1978)
