Estherville – Services for Mrs. Larry (Eileen)Klem, 31, Frisco, Colo. and formerly of Estherville, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Palestine Lutheran Church, rural Dolliver. Pastor Phillip Olson will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at her home in Frisco.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville after 3 p.m. Friday.

Eileen Valen was born May 4, 1951 in Estherville, the daughter of LaVerne and Marian (Peterson) Valen. She attended and was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln-Central School also a graduate of the University of Iowa in 1973. After graduation she lived in Tucson, Ariz. and worked as a counselor for the University of Arizona. She was united in marriage to Larry Klem on Nov. 30, 1979 in Jackson, Wyo.; they moved to Casper, Wyo. where they lived til Aug. 1982. She was a secretary for an oil company. The couple has lived in Frisco the past five months. She was a member of the Palestine Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband Larry, Frisco; parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Valen, a brother Larry and sister Joni of Estherville; also a sister, Janice Valen of Denver, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 6, 1983)
