Estherville – Funeral services for Mrs. Ada R. Wicks, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Travis Cannaday officiating. Burial will be in the Dolliver cemetery.

Mrs. Wicks passed away Sunday [May 23, 1976] at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Born Sept. 19, 1904 in Dallas County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wicks, she received her education in rural schools in the Adel area and graduated from Adel High School in 1924.

Mrs. Wicks taught school for many years in Dallas County and was a telephone operator in Guthrie Center. On Sept. 13, 1969, she married Lyle Wicks a Rapid City, S.D., and the couple lived in the Dolliver area.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle; one step-daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Marquardt, Primghar; one step-son, Wayne Wicks, Dolliver; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Pollack, Adel, and Mrs. Albert Poffenberger, Adel. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
