Dolliver – Services for Lloyd L. [Leroy] Weber, 68, of Dolliver will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Gospel Assembly Church in Estherville with the Rev. Ernest Gafkjen officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Twp. Cemetery, rural Dolliver with full military graveside rites by Armstrong VFW Post. He died Thursday, April 25, 1996 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.Visitation was held Friday evening at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
He was born March 21, 1928 in Dolliver, the son of John and Hazel (Stanerson) Weber. He attended Dolliver School, graduating from High School in 1946. On April 2, 1952 he was united in marriage with Wilma Ostwald in Emmetsburg. He lived all his life in the Dolliver area. He served During World War II with the 73rd Army Engineer’s Corp. in the pacific. After his discharge, he worked at Dolliver Coop Creamery from 1948-55. He farmed 30 years and 7 ½ years was employed by United Foods in Fairmont, Minn. until retiring.
He was a member of the Calvary Gospel Assembly in Estherville; American Legion Post of Ceylon, Minn. and the VFW Post of Armstrong. He was a member of the Dolliver Fire Board and a Trustee for Lincoln Townshp.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma of Dolliver; sons: John of Eagan, Minn. and S. Sgt. Mark Weber of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Mrs. John (Diane) Anderson of Estherville; one grandson, Jeff Anderson, Estherville; brothers: Galen of Dolliver and George of Estherville; sisters: Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Peterson of Laurel, Md., Geraldine Peterson and Alberta Rippentrop of Fairmont, MInn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 27, 1996)
