Rites Pending for Donald Sherling
Donald LeRoy Sherling, 53, died at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday [November 18, 1970] at Holy Family Hospital. He owned and operated the café at Dolliver.

Funeral services are pending at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 19, 1970)

Donald Sherling Funeral Set For Saturday
Donald LeRoy Sherling, 53, died 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday at the Holy Family Hospital.

He was born Jan. 1, 1917, at Missouri Valley to Roy and Luella Sherling. He graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1938, and was married Aug. 24, 1938 to Marjorie Carrigan at Council Bluffs. They lived in Clinton, where he worked in an auto body shop for 12 years. They moved to Dolliver in 1950, where they owned and operated the D and M. Café.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; three daughters, Mrs. Gene (Alene) Rosberg, Grinnell; Mrs. John (Alice) Metzger, Estherville; and Sue at home; three sons, Allan, Estherville; Albert and Joe at home; six grandchildren; and one half-brother, Cecil Champney, Cedar Rapids.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one half-sister and one half-brother.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Dolliver, with the Rev. Travis Cannaday officiating. Burial will be at Dolliver Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Home in Estherville anytime.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Reinhardt, Marvin Rasmussen, Galen Weber, Jack Benjamin, Gene Yackle and Wayne west. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 20, 1970)
