A number from this vicinity attended the funeral of Fritz Smith [Schmidt], a former resident in this community, in Estherville Sunday. Mr. Smith died in the Coleman hospital following a lingering illness of many months. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, July 8, 1937)

Dolliver and Vicinity
Mr. Fred Smith [Schmidt] passed away recently at the Coleman Hospital where he had been since in February. Rev. Hanly conducted the funeral services at the Sternberg funeral home in Estherville Sunday [July 4, 1937] afternoon. Interment was made in the Dolliver cemetery. Mr. Smith was a resident of the Dolliver community for about three years before going to the Huntington community. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, July 8, 1937)
