Estherville Native Dies at Hastings
Estherville – Helen K. Ryan, 65, Hastings, Minn., passed away at 11:45 a.m. Sunday [September 15, 1974] at the Hastings Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 21, 1909 in Goldfield, Iowa to William Hitman [Whitman] and Idabell Wilhelm. She was educated in the Dolliver and Estherville schools.

Mrs. Ryan was married to John Yaeger Jan. 17, 1928 in Gary, Indiana. After his death she married Francis Ryan in 1956. He died in 1957.

Mrs. Ryan has lived in several states and for the past six years has lived in Hastings. She belonged to the Fairmont Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herman (Betty) Holl, Estherville; and Mrs. Daryl (Maribelle) Plath, Hastings; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Fern Hensiek and Mrs. Harriet Miller, Dolliver and Mrs. Doris Hall, Fairmont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one grandson, two brothers and one sister.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry Funeral Chapel, Estherville with the Rev. Sanford Sill officiating. Burial will be at the Dolliver Cemetery.
