Gordon Ring
Dolliver – Gordon Clifford Ring, 61, Dolliver, died Saturday, June 11 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funerla Home, with the Rev. Marshall Montei of the Dolliver United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Dolliver. The Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville is in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call the Henry-Olson-Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Monday.

Ring was born March 14, 1927 at Mountain Lake, Minn., the son of Fed and Thena (Hanson) Ring. He attended country school in Cottonwood Country and later a Jackson Minn. High School.

Ring had also served during the Korean Conflict. On Sept. 25, 1955, he was united in marriage with Floraine Sharar at Jackson. After their marriage, they made their home in Dolliver. He worked first for the Tobin Packing Company. Later, he drove a DX tank truck and school bus for a number of years. For the past 15 years, he had worked for Emmet County on the road maintenance crew.

Ring belonged to Estherville’s American Legion. He was also a member of the Dolliver United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Floraine of Dolliver, a son, Bruce of Worthington, Minn., a daughter, Michele of Dolliver, a step-son, Kurtis Sharar of Tempe, Ariz., a step daughter, Mrs. Michael (Diana) Olson of Estherville; two brothers, Delbert of Sargeant, Minn. and Truman of Elkhorn, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Mildred) Connick of Milroy, Minn. and Ruth Lerdahl of Madison Heights, Mich. and three step grandchildren.

Ring was preceded in death by an infant daughter and his parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 13, 1988)
