Death at 87 for Peterson
William Peterson, 87, of Dolliver died yesterday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He had been a patient at the hospital geriatrics ward for one-and-one-half years.William Louis Peterson was born Aug. 22, 1879 at Dows, the son of Henry and Annie Peterson.
Mr. Peterson served as marshall in Dolliver for several years. He farmed in the Dolliver and Spirit Lake areas. After retirement he moved to Dolliver,.
He was a member of the Dolliver Methodist Church.

Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie [Mitchell], three brothers, three sisters, and one half-sister.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Christy Richards of Los Angeles, Calif., and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Emmet Trees of Dolliver and Mrs. Ralph Richards of rural Spirit Lake.
Public services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dolliver Methodist Church, Rev. Herman U. Smith officiating. Family services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. at the church.
The body will be taken from the Harpole Funeral Home in Spirit Lake to the church in Dolliver at 11 a.m. Monday to lie in state until time of services. The casket will not be opened after the services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 8, 1966)
