Dolliver – Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta Nissen, 87, Dolliver, will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Dolliver Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard F. Mitchell, Welcome, Minn., officiating and burial at the Dolliver Cemetery. She died Monday [March 15, 1976] at her home near Dolliver.Mrs. Nissen was born April 25, 1888 to Frederick and Anna Wiese Schwidder at Peru, Ill. She attended school in Peru and was confirmed there in the Lutheran faith. She was married to Chris Nissen Dec. 29, 1910 at her parents’ home near Langdon. In 1911 they moved to a farm near Langdon and for the past 45 years have lived east of Dolliver. Following the death of her husband she made her home with her sons.
Survivors include two sons, Leslie and Lester, Dolliver; one daughter, Mrs. Lilah Hovik, Ringsted; four grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lena Hahn, Ladd, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, her parents and four brothers.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, after noon Thursday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 17, 1976)
