Dolliver Woman’s Rites Held
Mrs. Ernest (Edith [Selma]) Moltzen, 85, Dolliver, passed away Saturday [August 11, 1973] at Good Samaritan Center In Estherville.

Mrs. Moltzen was born April 11, 1888 in Holstein to Ole and Sophia (Errick) Bonstead. In March, 1911 she married Albert Thorson and they farmed in the Graettinger and Dolliver area. Mr. Thorson passed away in 1942.

On Dec. 16, 1950, Mrs. Moltzen married Ernest Moltzen in Minneapolis, Minn., and they made their home in Dolliver.

Mrs. Molten is a member of the Dolliver Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Dolliver.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest, one son, Clayton Thorson, Winnebago, Minn.; five daughters, Mrs. Merle (Violet) Crabtree, Lake Park; Mrs. Cline (Mary) Lampkin, Des Moines; Mrs. Merlin (Lois) Soleta, Windom, Minn.; Mrs. Victor (Ruth) Roggow, Alpha, Minn.; Mrs. Wallace (LaVon) Stuhlfeier, Minneapolis, Minn.; 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one brother, Anton Bonstead, Estherville; two sisters, Albertine Grovdahl, and Mrs. Louie Christensen, Pequot Lakes, Minn.

Mrs. Moltzen was preceded in death by Albert Thorson, her parents, one son, Lester, three sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dolliver Methodist Church with the Rev. Sanford Sill and the Rev. Jesse Thorsen officiating. Burial was in the Dolliver Cemetery. Reese-Henry was in charge of funeral arrangements. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 13, 1973)
