Dolliver – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Dolliver for Marvin John Miller, 76, of Dolliver who died at Holy Family Hospital Tuesday [January 12, 1988].

The Rev. Marshall Monthei will conduct the services with burial to follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery at Dolliver. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson-Furhman Funeral Home in Estherville.

The deceased was born Oct. 20, 1911 at Dolliver, the son of John and Jennie (Nau) Miller. He attended the Dolliver school and high school. He was married to Harriet Whitman Feb. 2, 1932, at Blue Earth, Minn.

After their marriage, the couple moved to Riceville where he farmed. In 1953, the family moved to Graettinger and Miller began working at the John Morrell Plant in Estherville. In 1987, they lived to Dolliver. He worked at John Morrell & Co. 20 years before retiring in 1975. He had been a member of United Methodist Church of Dolliver.

Surviving are his wife; a son and four daughters, including Robert of Moville; Mrs. Virgil (Beverly) Togstad of Roseville, Minn.; Mrs. Gilbert (Joann) Stueve of Graettinger, Mrs. Janice Simington of Graettinger and Mrs. Dennis (Ann) Aaker of Dolliver.

Eighteen grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren also survive as does a sister, Mrs. Julius (Ellen) Hartwig of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: LeRoy Miller of Fulton, N.Y., and Melvin Hunt of Dolliver. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 14, 1988)
